 ONA Weekly No. 119

Goodbye to our Digital Manager, Jeremiah!

A bittersweet announcement: ONA’s Digital Manager, Jeremiah Patterson, will be leaving us soon to join American University’s School of Communications as a full-time Instructor of Journalism. In his four years with ONA, Jeremiah re-envisioned our main website, migrated our membership database to a more effective platform and designed a number of beautiful websites for our annual national and international conferences. He also brought to the team an unparalleled knack for thinking through our community’s user experience — both online and at our events. We’ll miss him, but are excited he’s found another role to excel at. Good luck, Jeremiah!

So, we’re hiring a Digital Manager

Given our prominence as a digital-minded and innovative organization, the Digital Manager is a crucial role to convey our passion for journalists, media and tech to the world. It’s the perfect opportunity for a proven digital talent to create, adapt and build new tools to connect and empower the journalism community. Plus, you’ll join ONA’s small but mighty team working out of Washington, D.C.

Board nominations close Aug. 15

We’re looking for digital media leaders to join ONA’s Board of Directors. Join other thought leaders in helping to guide the world’s largest organization of digital journalists in building a stronger industry. This year, there are seven seats open for election. Now’s the time to nominate your best candidate or apply. Applications and nominations are due this Monday, Aug. 15.
